If I Had Known
© 2006 Chase Andrew Jedick
I was taken by the hand by a girl I didn’t know.
She took me up a cliff and left me in the snow.
If I’d had a parachute, I’d a-followed her right back.
‘Stead I walked down the hill forging life’s new path.
If I had known what I know now,
If I had seen right to the truth,
If I’d known what I know now,
Then I might never have met you.
That day we met, you never even spoke.
Infatuation upon me, it played a little joke.
You just sat right there and let it all unfurl.
Romantic how the day we met, I liked this other girl.
If I had known what I know now,
If I had seen right to the truth,
If I’d known what I know now,
Then I might never have met you.
You took me by the hand and stayed right by my side.
And since you still don’t drive, I’ll always be your ride.
Well it took a few months for our love to grow.
And now that we’re sure of it, I’ll never let it go.
If I had known what I know now,
If I had seen right to the truth,
If I’d known what I know now,
Then I might never have met you.
